The Russian Orthodox Church is always at the forefront of technology. After launching the website (http://www.patriarh2009.ru/), where one can vote his favourite candidate to the post of Patriarch and take part in a forum, today another official website is coming into existence in Russian language (edited by the Moscow Patriarchate's press service http://www.sobor2009.ru/), where people will be offered the chance to follow the two main events that will lead to the election of the new Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia: the Council of Bishops that is to be held in Moscow's Christ the Saviour Cathedral on 25-26 January and the Local Council of the Russian Orthodox Church which is also due to take place in Moscow's Cathedral from January 27 to January 29. The website gives the opportunity to access documents, to see the list of the two electoral council's attendees and explains the media accreditation process. The Council of Bishops' and Local Council's programmes are also available on the website. On February 1, the new patriarch's official enthronement will take place in Christ the Saviour Cathedral, while on February 2 Bishops will be received at the Kremlin.
